1930s Rolex Oyster Clewco Military Bonklip Strap British Military – 17mm. Condition is “Used”. Dispatched with Royal Mail 2nd Class Large Letter.
Bonklip watch bracelets were first developed in the late 1920’s and the early 1930’s, and are widely associated with the Royal Air Force and British military watches in general. The primary link with the RAF is that the easily adjustable bracelet was issued to post-WWII aircrews to wear on their legendary Mark XI navigation watches.
These were made for the RAF by Jaeger-LeCoultre and IWC, and are two of the most accurate mechanical watches ever made.
Clewco bracelets were famously used on the oysters and Tudors back in the 1940s.
17.2mm width. Would fit on an 17.5mm to 18mm watch giving that military authentic look . Adjustable in size would fit a medium and large wrist. Can be awkward to lock shut.
220mm in length approx
